My name is Itzel
I'm a certified native Spanish teacher from Mexico, and for the last 6 years I've helped students go from studying Spanish to actually speaking it.
I know that gap from the other side. I studied English for years, and at 15 I started spending my summers with family in Chicago and Los Angeles. That's when reality hit: my textbook English wasn't enough. I understood more than I could say, and real conversations moved too fast. It was frustrating, but it taught me the most important lesson of my life: you don't learn a language only by studying it. You learn it by using it with real people.
That discovery made me fall in love with languages all over again, and after a few turns, life led me to teaching Spanish. Today my method is built on a simple idea: textbook Spanish isn't real Spanish. In my lessons you'll learn from real examples, real situations and real conversations, in the most natural and personal way possible, so that the Spanish you learn is the Spanish people actually speak.

I'm a complete beginner. Is this for me?
Absolutely. Many of our students start from zero. Lessons begin with the essentials, at a pace that feels comfortable, and you'll be saying real sentences from your very first class.
How do you know my level?
During your Cafecito with Itzel we have a short, relaxed conversation and a few quick questions. There's no formal test and no pressure. It simply helps us understand where you are and where you want to go.
How long is each lesson?
Each lesson is 50 minutes, live and 1-on-1.
What happens during Cafecito with Itzel?
It's a free, 25-minute video call. We talk about your goals, get a sense of your level and find your next steps. You can ask anything about how lessons work, and together we'll see whether working together makes sense. Either way, you'll leave with a clearer picture of your Spanish and what to do next.
How do I pay?
If you decide to start after your cafecito, we send you an invoice by email. You can pay securely through Stripe or PayPal.
What if I need to reschedule?
No problem. Just let us know at least 24 hours before your lesson and we'll find a new time that works for you.
